Manta Rays 2026 Registration

We are very excited to share that the Fairbrae Board has voted to protect our summer swim season as part of rehab planning for 2026. This is particularly important and exciting because this is our provisional year joining a new swim league: JSSL (Junipero Serra Swim League).

We are the first new team they have welcomed in many decades, and it feels like a strong culture fit for all involved. You can look forward to the Manta Rays traditions we all love AND new opportunities for collaborative fun this summer.

Permitting for the Fairbrae renovation project is very much underway but still in the planning cycle with the city. The Fairbrae Board has agreed (with our immense appreciation) to not break ground or close the pool until our home-hosted meets have finished at the end of June, at the earliest.

Registration Dates

Registration & payment to secure a spot is now open to:

1. All returning Manta Rays families with returning swimmers + new sibling swimmers if they have passed the swim evaluation.
2. All Fairbrae members and have passed the swim evaluation.

Registration for new Manta Rays families is not open this season, you have to be Fairbrae family or prior Manta Rays member family to register.

New swimmer evaluations are NOW open for both Fairbrae families and returning Manta Rays member families. See link below for more details.

New Swimmer Evaluations

If your swimmer is new to Manta Rays, or has not practiced with the team for 2 seasons or more, they will need a swim evaluation. Please Do NOT register them before they have passed the evaluation. This applies to all new swimmers regardless of Fairbrae membership status. Please click below for more information and to sign up for an evaluation.

Registration Fees

Season fee is $450* for the first swimmer in each family and $420 for each additional swimmer.  ****The discount codes are included on the next page****

Summer Manta Rays Swim Team Membership fee of $335 to be applied to swimmers who are part of the Manta Rays Swim Team but not year-round club members.

Payments

We accept credit cards only. There is a $3 fee per swimmer for our team website operating expense. In the event of a cancellation, Credit card fees are non-refundable.

Volunteer Requirement: At every swim team event you attend, adult family member(s) must volunteer for one shift per each child participating in every swim team event. Two children = two shifts.

Practice Groups

In the past, our team followed a May 31st age-group cutoff date. Over the last couple of years, we transitioned to a September 1st cutoff. As we join this new league, we are required to return to the May 31 cutoff date in order to comply with league rules. We understand this is a change from recent seasons and appreciate your flexibility as we align with league requirements.

Monday through Friday. Swimmers do not have to attend 5 days per week.

Group 1 (swimmers age 5 and 6): 5:15 to 5:45 PM

Group 2 (swimmers age 7 and 8): 5:00 to 6:00 PM

Group 3 (swimmers age 9 and 10): 5:45 to 7:00 PM

Group 4 (swimmers age 11 and 12): 6:45 to 8:15 PM

Group 5 (swimmers age 13 through 18): 7:15 to 8:45 PM

Swimmers' age = age as of May 31st, 2026. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO GROUP PLACEMENTS. THE COACHES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE SWIM GROUP PRACTICE TIMES OR SWIM MEET CHANGE REQUESTS.

Groups 2 through 5 begin practice with 15 minutes of dry land exercise.

The 2026 season runs from Monday, April 27th through Sunday, July 12th with guaranteed access to the pool for daily practice through June 27th. Pool construction might start the following week but all the meets and other events will continue.

Fairbrae Manta Rays Gear

The team will provide a swim cap for each swimmer.

Swimmers will need a swimsuit, goggles and a swim cap. Swim caps keep hair out of the swimmer's eyes, protect the swimmer's hair from damage and help keep the pool clean. In order to learn and execute proper stroke technique, swimmers are encouraged to wear competition style swimsuits to practice.

All families are welcome to purchase Manta Rays “swag” (gear). Gear info and sizing “try on” events dates to be posted soon

This is a pre-order; your gear will arrive on site at Fairbrae to distribute on Friday, April 24th at the Welcome Back Dinner.

Please note: Parkas and swim suits might take a few extra weeks. We will keep you posted.

Purchasing Manta Rays swim team items is NOT mandatory! But we sure look great wearing our “swag” around the deck during the swim meets!

The Manta Rays gear store is open! https://stores.inlinepromotions.com/fairbrae/shop/ Orders will be accepted starting now, through Sunday 3/15. We will hold swim suit try-on sessions (1 hour long) at Fairbrae at the following times: F 3/6 @ 5:30 || Sa 3/7 @ 4 || Su 3/8 @10:30 || F 3/13 @ 5:30 || Su 3/15 @ 10:30 Question? Please reach out to Jenny at [email protected]

Thank you!
